Hazelwood East High School principal, Dr. Granger sets up the Fight Free Board starting this school year to reduce the number of fights that happen in school. If students meet the set goal, which is 10 at the moment, they will get an incentive.
“It’s all about the culture,” said Granger after being asked to give advice to students and faculty about the fighting board. He went on to explain that if the first goal is met you will get a small incentive like a treat at lunch. As bigger goals are met, students tell him what they would like to see as long as it fair.
Former student and now security guard of the school ‘Damo’ McGhee said,“think of it positive, not negative,” after also being asked to give advice to students and faculty.
Update: Since juniors and seniors have met the first goal, they will get a special treat at lunch on October 16, 2018.
