The April 2025 calendar, approved last year by HSD Board of Education. Spring Break is highlighted in yellow.
Spring break for Hazelwood East High School starts on April 14 and goes through April 22. Our break is much later than spring break in other districts this year. Students are looking forward to finally taking a much-needed break, getting some work hours, and having some fun.

HSD Spring Break is unusually late this year. The district calendar, approved last year, pushed it to April. Students have mixed thoughts on the timing.
“I want it to be earlier because everyone else’s is earlier,” said Chase Lee, a sophomore at EHS. “But I’m glad it’s now so we can get a break before EOCs start.”
Juani Eskridge agrees with this sentiment. “I wish it was a little earlier because everyone else was on spring break, and I wanted to do stuff with them.”
Although other breaks include holidays, which give the breaks some purpose, and pre-planned events, spring break leaves students and families up to their own devices. Plans vary from just relaxing to visiting theme parks and working.
“Spring Break is mainly for relaxation before testing. We deserve a break before we go hard on the EOC. I’m going to Six Flags and parties—places where the people are at!” Lee said.
Eskridge plans on working to earn a little extra money; she also might “slide to Six Flags.” Students are looking forward to coming back refreshed and renewed and ready to wrap up the 2024-2025 school year.
