The weather is changing and the holidays are approaching. Every year after Thanksgiving thousands of Americans participate in Black Friday. Black Friday is a day where stores have exclusive deals or huge markdowns on items that Americans go crazy for.
Alexis Johnson (shopper) says, “It was crowded, a lot of people were being ignorant. Other shoppers were running into me and stepping over my shoes.”
Some people weren’t able to participate in this year’s Black Friday shopping due to work. Many Americans that were working were overwhelmed by the enormous crowds and excitement from the customers.
Alanna Andrisse (worker) says, “Shoe Carnival opened at 6 am, there was already a line when I got there at 5:45 am. After about 7:30 am it kind of died down then picked right back up at 11 am when more people started waking up.”
Many Americans did not want to get caught in the commotion of the shoppers on Black Friday, instead, they waited until Cyber Monday to catch deals online. People who didn’t participate believes that Black Friday shopping is unsafe and they would rather be at home shopping on their computer.
Teirra Andrisse (online shopper) says, “I didn’t want to deal with the Black Friday shoppers. And most of the stores were sold out of what I was looking for. I was able to take my time looking for what I wanted and I didn’t have to deal with the rudeness of customers.”
Tymesha Cooper (worker) says, “The stores were left empty but in a disaster. Everything was scattered around and out of place. My co-workers and I had to place everything back where it belongs before we left, I was very exhausted.”
As Black Friday came to an end, many of the stores were empty and had merchandise scattered everywhere. Employees who worked for retail stores had a hard time keeping the store up to par with hundreds of shoppers shopped.
