Actors and crew of EHS invite you to the behind the scenes of the school production of “Highschool Musical” set to take place on November 23 in hope to bring more people into the drama club.
Improvements and additions to the Drama club make the production process faster and more enjoyable for play veterans and new aspiring students alike.
“It’s better now that it’s during 6th hour because a lot of people do sports and stuff and it wouldn’t work out doing sports and drama club,” Tatiauna said, a senior playing the lead role of Kelsi.
In the past, there have been problems where Student actors would drop out of productions because they had previous engagements to do after school like sports or a job. Now, actors and crew don’t have to pick one or the other.
“I didn’t get to formally audition for “Gabriella” like I wanted to so I just got randomly thrown into a part where I don’t even get to sing by myself at all.” Christa, Junior in charge of playing “Taylor.”
Due to the play being changed again from Aladdin to Highschool Musical, some cast feel like the production is being rushed and that the directors gave roles out too quickly just to be ready for the deadline.
“Nothing is ever perfect, there’s always going to be some pros and cons to everything. There’s more time to work, but with the deadline coming up quick, we turn more and more into chickens with our heads cut off” Michael, head of set production and light choreography, said.

Hopefully, there will be a dress rehearsal that teachers can attend right after school.
