The Hazelwood east robotics team feel confident in its upcoming season In November 2017. In the earlier years, there weren’t any tryouts, because they did not think of themselves as an actual sport. People at our school don’t take robotic seriously so this year there will be tryouts to test new members. The tryouts will help them weed out the people who actually want to join robotic from those who don’t.
EHS Robotics team coach, Christopher Mattli says, “ I want the students to fill as if robotics is a sport and to have it inspire people to want to join and want to be engineers.”
Mr. Mattli is ecstatic about the next season and has high hopes for all members. To them, this is going to be their best year yet. They know that they can only get better from where they are now.
Mattli continues, “I think this competition will be the best one yet because we were able to gain more members and we already have great ones.”
The team wasn’t as great the beginning of last year but they found a way to grow and overcome challenges. Now they have something to look back on and get better from there mistakes.
“Last year we did great. We even won the school their first robotics state trophy, but we still have a lot to improve on as a team.”, Mr. Mattli said
Hazelwood East has high hopes for the 2017-2018 Robotics Team. America engineer, Dean Kamen; credited with inventing theSegwayy, says it best:
“Inspiration comes from the heart. The letter ‘I’ is the heart of F”I”RST… (F Inspiration R S T). “ Hazelwood East Robotics looks to inspire students to want to become wonderful engineers.
