Hazelwood East hosted picture day on Oct.31 and Nov. 1. In front of the library. Students and faculty were prepared to take their 2017-18 school year pictures. Seniors had the option to take pictures as well but were not able to have their pictures featured in the yearbook due to cap and gown pictures in l January, but were able to participate.
Ms.Goff (teacher) says, “It was kind of hectic yesterday. I wasn’t able to help because I had to leave early, but Ms. T held it together for us.”
Picture day is a big day for some students at Hazelwood East. These are the pictures that will be published in this school year yearbook. Students are dressed very well with bright pretty smiles. Student Jaylen Spearman and Rakylah Johnson explains to us how he feels about his picture going into the yearbook this year for everyone to see.
Freshman Spearman says,“I don’t really care. It’s only my freshman year. I’m not excited, I’m a boy.”
Sophomore Johnson says, “I just feel like it’s going to be ugly because my hair isn’t done and I don’t get it done until next week.
As students are getting ready to take their pictures, they explained to us the process they took to get ready for picture day. Different emotions are expressed from the students at Hazelwood East after their picture was taken.
Rakylah Johnson (10th grade) says, “I thought about what I was going to wear in the morning. I didn’t feel like being cute so I just threw on some leggings and called it a day.”
Jaylen Spearman (9th grade) says, “My picture was cool, I forgot picture day was today so I wasn’t all dressed up like everybody else was but I had a fresh cut so that’s all that matters.”
