The Hazelwood East high school Robotics team placed second at the First Friday’s event March 1, 2019, at the Science center. Coaches are Brenna Mills, Michael Cowen-Nissen, and Craig Widmen of the robotics team.
The competition was an FTC meet, which included six other teams.
“We work really good together throughout the year. We made really good friends with each other and it helped us progress” said Sydney Lee.
Most of the students on the Robotics team work together on building and programming the robot for it to work right.
“I help the team because me and my other teammate we help program the robot so it moves, which made a huge difference, said Sydney. “So everything can work throughout the round.”
During the competition, Brandon looks for any mistakes happening with the robot.
“Right now we are modifying our robot, said Brandon Walter, so it would be more effective. So problems we had at the competition we are fixing”.
Students on the Robotics team are wanting to go to College.
“Yes I plan on going to college for Robotics,” said Sydney.
